We've had winters with more snow than is the case here in Turku at the moment. The snow cover is non-existent and the grass is greening. Luckily, today the temperature dropped slightly below the line.

Here’s some views for you from Palojärvi, which is something like 40 kilometres from Rovaniemi towards Pello along the Aavasaksa road, and another one from Laanila just before Ivalo, which is part of the Saariselkä area.

The pictures have been taken on a substandard film camera in 1968 when I was just a kid.

Can’t boast about the image quality but the main thing is that there’s plenty of snow about and we are having fun.

In the pictures you see the bunch of kids from our house. We might have been a bit of a handful to my parents who did the filming.
